Every so often, something breaks through. Not an upgrade or improvement, a true shift.

It changes how we move through the world—and how we see it.

We’ve felt it before. When tools like AI stopped being ideas and became part of daily life. Or when serious minds began mapping a base on the moon.

Once the paradigm shifts, there’s no going back.

It’s happening again. Something entirely fresh.

The way we get from “here to there” is about to change—
and with it, everything in between.

We didn’t go looking for it. It found us: the first woman in America to own and operate a flying car.

That’s the kind of thing you read twice.

Then came the headline from Dan Neil in The Wall Street Journal:

“I test drove a flying car. Get ready. They’re here.”

When respected, international publications devote real space to an emerging market, it starts to look like a seam opening in a century-old industry.

So, we dug in. And there she was. Fox News called her: “a joyful badass with an infectious exuberance for a new era of flight.”

That tracks.

Meet Heather Chirtea—an intrepid woman pushing it further. Not just flying, but aiming to be the first to barnstorm the country in a flying car.

Her story has a familiar shape to it: A new frontier, adventure, maybe even a little history repeating itself.

You can’t help but think of Amelia Earhart.

Only this time, the machine is different but the moment feels just as big: freedom, movement, the ability to go when the moment hits.

And that’s always been our language:

  • Adventure when it calls
  • Decisions made a little quicker
  • A life lived with a Carpe Vitam edge—grounded, but never standing still

So yeah…we had to track this one down.

…What Is It?

In this context, it’s an electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicle (eVTOL).

The one featured here is the BlackFly from Pivotal. There are only a handful in the U.S. so far, but orders are already building for the next-generation Helix.

Others are moving into the space as well:

  • Joby Aviation
  • Archer Aviation
  • Jetson

Each with a different approach—some focused on personal use, others on automated air taxis.

All delivering the same thing…freedom from the road. Right now, you’re looking at about 20 minutes of flight and roughly 20 miles of range.

Not far, but far enough to change how you think.

And with battery technology advancing quickly, those numbers are expected to move—fast.

…This Isn’t a Toy

By 2034, the market is projected to reach $11.75B.

Driving that growth is urban congestion, demand for efficient mobility, advances in battery technology and environment sustainability.

And something else…people who just want more “go” options.

Archer Aviation has already been named the official air taxi provider for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

Think about that. A city known for traffic, suddenly you are moving above it. Vertiports instead of parking lots, takeoff instead of gridlock. This isn’t “whiteboard stuff”, it’s real and is starting.

In some circles, it’s being called the low-altitude economy.

And not a surprise, Elon Musk “teased” in an interview with Joe Rogan that a prototype for a Tesla flying car may soon be unveiled.

While major hurdles are being tackled for wide spread use, there are major, serious players engaging. For us small guys it’s worth paying attention.

Serious Adventuring, Demonstrating, and Advocacy

Then you find people actually doing it.  Not talking about it, not waiting for “one day” …just living it.

Flying one of the first flying cars in the country—and pushing it further, aiming to cross the country in it.

Yep, you sure do see a little of Amelia Earhart.

Heather Chirtea (www.heatherchirtea.com) and her father took delivery of one of the first flying cars in the country nearly two years ago. She quickly became an advocate, educator and has given numerous demonstrations across the country.

While simply following her passion for adventure…she also became an icon.

Search her name, or just “first female flying car pilot”, and you’ll see it—pages of coverage across the country.

But underneath it all is something simpler: A pioneer stepping in early. Because every shift needs someone willing to go first.

Heather and her team are doing exactly that—turning something that feels distant into something real.

Carpe Vitam

This isn’t about a machine, it’s about what it unlocks. The freedom to go when the moment hits. That’s always been the point.

Innovators, entrepreneurs, and adventurers are on it early and are doing the work to bring it forward. Not someday, now. The horizon hasn’t moved, we just found a new way to reach it.

Where would you fly first?

Key West, Bahamas or nowhere in particular…just up.

When you do, dress for where you land.
